Taming and Bonding Pets Empty Taming and Bonding Pets

Okay Ladies and Gents this section of the forums is for Pets. At the bottom of this post will be a section with our custom pets and the taming and lore tha you will need for them. Before I get into that let me post a little something about bonding pets.

There are two ways to bond a pet here on KOTRT.

The first way to bond a pet to you is with a Pet bonding deed. These can be aquired in two ways.
    1. The first way to get a pet bond deed is to find the mob that drops them and kill him. He has a 20% drop rate so you will NOT get one every time you kill him plus he is HARD to kill.
    2. The second way to get a pet bond deed is to take part when staff holds events, especially hide and seek.

Even with a pet bonding deed you must have the correct amount of both Animal Taming and Animal Lore in order for the pet to bond with you. If you do not have the correct amount of either of these skills staff will no longer bond pets to you as you will not be able to control the pet.

The second way to bond a pet to you is to stable or shrink the pet. This is considered to be the "old school way" of bonding a pet to you. Here is a step by step of how to bond a pet the old school way.
    1. Tame the pet.
    2. Feed the pet.
    3. Shrink or stable the pet.
    4. Wait 7 FULL DAYS. leaving the pet stabled or shrunk.
    5. When the time is up unstable or unshrink the pet.
    6. FEED THE PET!
    7. The pet should now bond with you.

Again if you DO NOT have the correct amount of Animal Taming or Animal Lore the pet will NOT bond to you and staff will NOT bond the animal to you.

A side note. DO NOT UNSTABLE OR UNSHRINK your pet until the FULL 7 DAYS are up. If you unstable or unshrink the pet it resets the bonding timer and the pet will never bond with you, the timer will just begin going into the negative once the timer has expired. Staff will no longer bond pets that players have reset the bonding timer on.

Now here is the list of custom pets and the required taming and lore to control them.

Slimie Dragon 93.9 in both taming and lore to tame, bond and control this pet. This is a good starter pet for new players.

Ocean Stallion 100.0 in both taming and lore to tame, bond and control this pet. When you tame one of these you will need to page staff to have it set to walk on water. If you do not page then you will not be able to walk on water with this pet.

Cu Sidhe 102.1 in both taming and lore to tame, bond and control this pet. You must also be an Elf to tame this pet. In order to ride this pet you will need to either be an Elf, if you are not an Elf you must be wearing the Pads of the Cu Sidhe.

Destard Guardian 110 in both taming and lore to tame, bond and control this pet. This dragon is ridable and requires the Fire Sigil bracelet in order to ride him. When he is mounted he looks like a horse but when you dismount he regains his ancient wyrm appearance.

Black Wyrm 112.5 in both taming and lore to tame, bond, and control this pet.

Beowulf 115 in both taming and lore to tame, bond and control this pet. This is a stronger version of a Cu Sidhe and has the same race requirements as the Cu Sidhe. In addition the Beowulf will attempt to heal you during combat.

Stallion of Camelot 118 in both taming and lore to tame, bond and control this pet. This horse is VERY mean and will easily kill even veteran players if you are not careful. This pet will attempt to heal you during combat.

Evo Pets- Hiryu's, Dragons, and Mercs. 120 in both taming and lore to control. These pets can only be gotten by finding their guardians. These pets bond with you on hatching so you will not need to worry about the bonding process BUT make sure that before you hatch them you have the required taming and lore or you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL THEM once they evolve to a high enough point. DO NOT PAGE STAFF IF YOUR EVO GOES WILD BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILL TO CONTROL IT BECAUSE YOU WILL BE S.O.L. WE WILL NOT REBOND THE PET TO YOU IF THIS IS THE CASE.
