okay apparently this needs saying so I am going to say it one time.
Be careful when you are traveling by moon gate. This includes the town gates, world travel gates, a gate that another player has opened up for travel to a different location and gates in the public gate house.
World travel gates and town gates are considered wilderness EVEN IF ONE END OF THAT GATE is located INSIDE a town there is a chance the gate at the other end will be in the wilderness and YOU CAN AND WILL BE ATTACKED IF THERE ARE MONSTERS THERE. If you do not want to run the risk of being attacked when you reach your location then you need to use the red travel book that you get in your backpack on character creation or use runes to locations that you yourself have personally marked.
We place those travel books in your pack on creation to help make your life in new lands easier and smoother. We can easily take them out if you guys would rather have to run or ride a mount anywhere and everywhere you want to go. The choice of how you travel is entirely up to you but remember THERE ARE RISKS TO TRAVELING PERIOD!!!
